Second 2022 OPA Board candidate forum held

(June 25, 2022) Six candidates vying for three seats on the Ocean Pines Board met during the second and final 2022 forum on Saturday morning. The Ocean Pines Elections Committee hosted the forum.
 
Candidates answered questions on topics including biggest goals, prolonging the recent financial success, conclusions from the bylaws referendum, working with advisory committees, handling the sizable workload of a Board member, and what Ocean Pines does well.
 
Candidates, in ballot order, are: Paula Gray, Amy Peck, Stuart Lakernick, Monica Rakowsk, Josette Wheatley and Steve Jacobs. 
 
The seven-member volunteer board is the governing body of Ocean Pines.

Important upcoming election dates include: 
 

• Cutoff date for voter eligibility - Wednesday, July 6    
• Ballots mailed - Week of July 12    
• Ballot Deadline - Wednesday, Aug. 10 by 4 p.m.    
• Ballots counted and vote totals announced - Thursday, Aug. 11 starting at 10 a.m. in the Clubhouse Meeting Room    
• Annual Meeting - Saturday, Aug. 13. Time and Venue TBD
