UPDATED: White Horse Park playground and skate park to reopen, this Monday

(June 13, 2020) Ocean Pines will reopen the White Horse Park playground and skate park this Monday, June 15, at 9 a.m.

The Manklin Meadows playground also opened on Monday, to be followed by the remainder of the community's parks by the end of the week.

All visitors must practice social distancing when possible, as well as practice proper hand hygiene when entering and exiting the parks and all outdoor areas.

Ocean Pines will provide a hand-washing station at the White Horse Park pavilion, as well as hand sanitizer stations at both the playground and skate park. Hand sanitizer stations also will be placed at other playgrounds before they open.

Trash cans and picnic tables are being removed, and mulch will be installed at all playgrounds once it arrives.

Park restrooms will remain closed, at this time.

Recreation and Parks Director Debbie Donahue said all decisions made by Ocean Pines Management are fluid and can change at any time.

“The Recreation and Parks Department will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation through regular updates from the local and state health department, as well as Gov. Hogan and the CDC,” Donahue said.
