Comment Period for Proposed Commercial Chicken Houses

The Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) held a public hearing on whether to grant a General Discharge Permit for Animal Feeding Operation/s for a proposed commercial chicken farm in Worcester County.

According to the permit application, Ki Suk Kim/Lucky Farm (AI Number: 154363) is proposing to run a 130,000-chicken commercial operation at 10046 Peerless Road, Showell MD 21892.

For those who were not able to attend the April 24 hearing in Snow Hill, you have until Monday, April 30 to have your written comments considered (whether for or against the proposed commercial chicken operation).
