The Ocean Pines Recreation and Parks Department will offer area residents the opportunity to learn about retirement planning and how posture can affect headaches at free seminars offered this week at the Ocean Pines Community Center.
Carrie Dupuie, a financial advisor with Raymond James Financial Services, will lead a “Long Healthy Retirement Plan” seminar on Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 3-4:30 p.m. This seminar is appropriate for ages 45-80.
Participants will learn important items to consider prior to and during retirement including health care costs, transportation issues, food and entertainment and other expenses that may come up during the retirement years. Those with questions prior to the seminar can call Carrie at 410-208-1704.
Back in Action Physical Therapy will discuss the link between posture and headaches at a seminar on Thursday, Oct. 3 from 1-2 p.m.
Some of the topics to be discussed include how to assess posture, how posture may be contributing to pain and dysfunction and why “just trying to stand up straight” doesn’t work.
These seminars are free and open to the public, but spaces are limited and advance registration is required. To register, call the Ocean Pines Recreation and Parks Department at 410-641-7052.
Information regarding additional recreational programs, including an online version of the Ocean Pines Activity Guide, is available at OceanPines.org.
