Heat Advisory

The U.S. National Weather Service in Wakefield, Virginia on Monday issued the following advisory:

“Very hot and humid weather expected later this week through the weekend. While specific values may still fluctuate, the key message is that we are expecting a prolonged period of very hot weather. Plan ahead and make preparations now!”

Ocean Pines Operations Director Colby Phillips added the following:

“It’s extremely important that anyone working outside this week drinks A LOT of water and takes breaks either by a dip in a pool or in an AC environment. If someone gets dizzy, headache, faint they could be suffering from heat exhaustion. Have them drink fluids and place an ice pack or cold towel at the back of their neck. The idea is to bring their body temperature down.”
