New Hydrorider, Aqua Cross Training Sessions Begin

Spaces are still available in two new Hydrorider classes beginning this month at the indoor Sports Core Pool.

Hydrorider aqua bikes are user-friendly and suitable for all skill levels. In general, water exercise allows participants to train at a higher intensity rate and recover at a faster rate due to the cooling effect of the water.

A new class session will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays at 8 a.m. Oct. 28-Dec. 11. Classes will not be held on Nov. 25 or Nov. 27 due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Ocean Pines Aquatics will also offer a new class that will combine Hydroriders with aqua cross training, another perennially popular offering.

Aqua cross training is a high-intensity, total-body workout that uses both Hydroriders and aqua trampolines.

The class will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-9:45 a.m. Oct. 31-Dec. 12. Tuesdays will feature Hydroriders, and Thursdays will focus on aqua cross training. Class will not be held on Thursday, Nov. 28.

Participants are asked to show up 10 minutes prior to the start of class to set up a bike. Class time is 30 minutes in the water.

The price for either 12-class session is $85 for Ocean Pines swim members, $90 for Ocean Pines residents and $95 for non-residents. Drop ins will be available as space allows. Drop-in prices are $8 for Ocean Pines swim members, $10 for Ocean Pines residents and $12 for non-residents.

Water shoes must be worn for classes using the water bikes and may be purchased at the Sports Core Pool.
