The Ocean Pines Board of Directors has released the first draft of the architectural plans for the addition to the community’s administration building that will house the Ocean Pines Police Department.
The addition, which will increase the police department space by about 3,700 square feet, will be built on the west end of the existing building. Architectural and engineering firm Davis, Bowen & Friedel, Inc. submitted a floor plan as well as south, north and west elevation views.
The new plans feature a dedicated entrance in addition to rooms for photos and printing, processing, interviews and training. An armory and space for evidence preparation and storage are also included.
The Ocean Pines Police Department is a state-certified, full-service police agency that operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The department protects life and property, preserves the peace and enforces all state and county laws, including traffic laws, in a fair and impartial manner.
All sworn officers attend 23 weeks of intensive police training at the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy in Salisbury, Maryland. Upon graduation, all officers are certified by the Maryland Police Training Commission.
