Ocean Pines Named One of America’s Top 100 Safest Cities

A recent ranking of the safest cities in America found that Ocean Pines is the only Maryland community to be named one of the top 100 safest cities in the country for 2017.

“We’re very fortunate to have residents who are good neighbors, who keep an eye on their neighborhoods,” said Ocean Pines Police Chief David Massey. “Support from the community and the Board of Directors help to ensure that all residents and guests are safe.”

Ocean Pines is ranked 90th. SafeWise, a source for home security and safety advice, has analyzed FBI crime statistics from all fifty states and researched each city’s public safety, public health, and educational offerings to determine 2017’s “100 Safest Cities in America.”

“People want to live in a safe city and we continue to work hard to provide that security and safety here in Ocean Pines,” said Chief Massey.
