Ocean Pines to host school supply collection

A school supply collection is scheduled at the Ocean Pines Administration Building on 235 Ocean Parkway on Wednesday, Aug. 21 from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.

The collection is part of the Rising Tide event occurring simultaneously in Salisbury, Cambridge and Ocean Pines in Maryland, and in Milton and Dover, Delaware.

WBOC and Safford of Salisbury are sponsoring the collection, with school supplies to be distributed by Wicomico County Fresh Start and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware.

Items needed include colored pencils, crayons, pencils, pens, highlighters, erasers, glue sticks, 12-inch rulers, three-by-five-inch index cards, pocket folders, wide-ruled composition notebooks, one-inch subject spiral notebooks, three-ring binders, tabbed dividers, loose-leaf paper, book bags and pencil pouches.

WBOC staff will collect the items at a clearly marked car in the Administration Building parking lot. In case of inclement weather, the collection will move indoors.
