Pine Tones to perform Christmas concert, Dec. 13

The following is a release from the Pines Tones Chorus:

The Pine Tones Chorus will present their Christmas concert on Friday, Dec. 13 at 7:30 p.m. at Atlantic United Methodist Church in Ocean City, on Baltimore Avenue and 4th Street.

The concert will open with the song “Everywhere Christmas Tonight.” Other popular selections will include all-time favorites “Have Your Self a Merry Little Christmas” and “Happy Holiday,” as sung by Frank Sinatra and Andy Williams. Cinema fans may recognize “Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas” from the film holiday “Home Alone 2.”

Carols in the program will include “Masters in This Hall” and “Here We Come a-Caroling,” while classical selections will include “Gesu Bambino,” a song cherished by many stars, including Luciano Pavarotti.

Additionally, soprano Mary Price and tenor Fr. Michael Moyer will duet on the holiday favorite “O Holy Night.”

The Pine Tones Chorus includes roughly 55 singers from Ocean Pines, Ocean City and nearby areas. June Todd is the chorus director, Jim Meckley is assistant director, and Jenny Anderson is the group’s accompanist. Guest musicians will include Becca Doughty (percussion), Julie Barton (oboe), Kristilyn Friese (cello), Sally Hendon (flute) and Tom Baione (string bass).

Admission is free and an offering will be received. After the concert, guests may enjoy refreshments in the church social hall.
