The Ocean Pines Recreation and Parks Department is accepting candy donations for its annual Spring/Easter Celebration on Saturday, April 11. Volunteers are also needed!

Philadelphia Flower Show Bus Trip

Join Ocean Pines for a bus trip to the Philadelphia Flower Show on Sunday, March 1. This year’s theme is “Riviera Holiday.” Bus leaves at 7:30 a.m. $67 per person.

Free Seminar – “Safeguarding Your Identity”

Learn what to do before and after a breach of your identity at this free seminar offered Dec. 12, Feb. 5 and April 1 from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Ocean Pines Community Center.

Zumba

Two classes, two ways to have fun and get fit! Morning Zumba is offered Tuesdays from 8:30-9:15 a.m., March 3- April 7 and April 4- May 19. Afternoon Zumba is offered Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30-5:15 p.m., March 9-April 15, April 20-May 27, June 8-July 15 and July 20-Aug. 26. Sign up for the entire session or drop in!

T-Ball

Boys and girls ages 4-6 are invited to sign up for our fun t-ball program beginning Saturday, April 4 at 10 am.

Happy Cleats Soccer

This fun and exciting soccer program for kids will be offered beginning April 7 for two-year-olds and April 9 for three-year-olds at Somerset Park.

Pee Wee Soccer

This recreational soccer program for boys and girls ages 4-5 begins April 7 and April 9 for ages 6-8 at Somerset Park in Ocean Pines.

Virginia International Tattoo Bus Trip

Travel with Ocean Pines to Norfolk, Virginia on Sunday, May 3. This year’s performance will mark the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II and honor the courage and sacrifice of the Greatest Generation.

Family Fun Night Bingo

Play Bingo, win prizes and spend quality time with your family on Friday, March 20 from 6-8pm at the Ocean Pines Community Center.

The Ocean Pines Community Center will remain closed until further notice because of the COVID-19 pandemic, per executive orders issued by Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan. According to the executive orders, it will remain closed until termination of the state of emergency, or until the executive order is rescinded, superseded, amended, or revised by additional orders. There is no timeline yet for reopening.

Recreation and Parks staff will take calls at 410-641-7052 from Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Planned Easter events, included Breakfast with the Easter Bunny and the annual Easter celebration, have been canceled, along with coed softball, men’s basketball leagues, outdoor soccer, tee ball, and the spring flea market. Recreation and Parks will address cancelations and refunds as soon as possible.

Boat slip paperwork can be deposited in the 24-hour drop box available in the Administration Building lobby, located on 239 Ocean Parkway.

All Ocean Pines parks and playgrounds, including the skate park and basketball courts, remain closed because of state mandates.

Update:

The Ocean Pines Community Center closed as of March 16 and will remain closed through March 29. All activities and classes have been canceled during that period. 

Recreation and Parks Manager Debbie Donahue said the Ocean Pines Community Center would also receive a deep cleaning during the closure. The Recreation and Parks Department expects to reopen on March 30. 

Donahue said Easter special events are currently under review. Family Fun Night, scheduled for March 20, will be cancelled. 

Recreation and Parks Department staff will remain in the office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday, to answer phones and continue with registration for classes and future room rentals. Staff will also continue to clean the building.
