‘Spirited debate’ by OPA Board candidates; second forum set for June 22

Six candidates for the Ocean Pines Board of Directors met during a forum at the community center, Wednesday night.

Candidates were asked questions ranging from where they would focus their attention on the next fiscal-year budget, to their impressions on the recently released forensic audit.

Forum questions were developed by the Ocean Pines Elections Committee, sourced from homeowner emails prior to the forum, and taken by written submission from attendees during the forum.

“It was a spirited debate and we enjoyed having all of the candidates answer questions from our homeowners and residents,” Elections Committee Chairman Steve Habeger said. “We hope everyone will pay close attention to upcoming election dates and carefully review their ballots and ballot instructions before voting. Remember, your vote counts.”

Tom Janasek, Larry Perrone, Camilla Rogers, Paula Gray, Shawn Kotwica and Gregory Turner attended the forum. Edward Solum could not attend because of a health issue, but he is expected to attend the next forum.
