Highlights from May 12 special OPA Board meeting
Monday, May 11, 2020
(May 12, 2020) Video for the May 12 special Ocean Pines Association Board meeting is now available online.
The meeting was held virtually using the Microsoft Teams platform.
During the meeting, Director Frank Daly withdrew a motion that would have empowered General Manager John Viola to apply for county, state and federal aid while Maryland is under a state of emergency because of the COVID-19 pandemic. After some discussion, Daly and others agreed the motion was not necessary.
Board members later debated the merits of the recent federal Paycheck Protection Program loan and then adjourned to closed session “for the purpose of consideration of the terms or conditions of a business transaction in the negotiation stage if the disclosure could adversely affect the economic interests of the homeowner’s association; specifically discussion of matters pertaining to employees and personnel as permitted by the MD Homeowner’s Association Act.”
