‘Community for Life’ helps Marylanders 60 and older stay in their home

The following is a release from Maryland Community for Life:
 
(April 10, 2023) Maryland’s “Community for Life” is an innovative program developed by the Maryland Department of Aging to support older adults as they age at home.
 
The program’s services are designed to prevent the predictable challenges of aging that can require admittance into high-level care facilities, such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities. 
 
In Worcester County, services include private rides to visit the doctor, or to the store to run errands. There is also help for small tasks around the home, or just someone to call and check in from time to time.  
 
“Our CfL program exists to help seniors just like you who live independently in their home, but could use a little help getting things done and going places,” Brandy Trader said. “Becoming a member would allow you the comfort of knowing that you can have your arrangements for transportation and basic home projects handled without the worry of having to ask a family member or friend all the time.  
 
“Our members have the satisfaction in knowing that there is someone available to help just a phone call away,” Trader continued. “Do you need to go to the store, to the salon, to the doctor, to the post office? – No problem! Do you need your prescriptions or grocery order picked up? – We’ve got you covered!”
