UPDATED: Republic Services to collect extra bundled, bagged yard waste
Wednesday, August 5, 2020
Note: This post has been updated to reflect that residents do not need to contact Ocean Pines Public Works to have large branches picked up; items may instead be placed curbside for collection by the department through the week of Aug. 10.
(Aug. 5, 2020) Republic Services and Ocean Pines Public Works are doing their best to help ease cleanup in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Isaias.
Republic Services Operations Supervisor Jesse Dale Jr. said he asked drivers this week to pick up bagged yard debris and bundles of branches, whenever possible.
“Due to the storm yesterday, we understand the amount of yard waste will be excessive. We will do our best to clean up as fast as we can,” Dale Jr. said. “I am telling my drivers, if we can handle extra bags or bundles of yard waste, please do so. If not, we will continue to collect four bags at a time.”
Ocean Pines Public Works Director Eddie Wells said crews would continue to gather branches and debris that fell onto road easements.
Residents with branches too large for Republic Services to pick up may place debris curbside for Ocean Pines Public Works to collect.
