Work Out in the Water with Hydrorider Classes

Working out in the water takes on a whole new meaning when it’s done on a bike.

If you’ve never tried Hydrorider in-water cycling bikes at the Sports Core Pool, October is the perfect time to drop in or sign up for a new class.

The bikes are user-friendly and suitable for all skill levels. In general, water exercise allows participants to train at a higher intensity rate and recover at a faster rate due to the cooling effect of the water.

Drop-in spaces are currently available in a class meeting Mondays and Wednesdays at 10 a.m. through Oct. 16. Participants are asked to show up 10 minutes prior to the start of class to set up a bike. Class time is 30 minutes in the water.

The price per class is $8 for Ocean Pines swim members, $10 for Ocean Pines residents and $12 for non-residents.

Spaces are also available in two new class sessions set to begin on Oct. 28. The classes will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays at 8 a.m. or 10 a.m. and will continue through Dec. 11. Classes will not be held on Nov. 25 or Nov. 27 due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

The price for either 12-class session is $85 for Ocean Pines swim members, $90 for Ocean Pines residents and $95 for non-residents. Drop ins will be available as space allows.

Water shoes must be worn for classes using the water bikes and may be purchased at the Sports Core Pool.

For more information about these classes or to register, call the Sports Core Pool at 410-641-5255. Additional information about Ocean Pines Aquatics programs may be found in the current Ocean Pines Activity Guide at OceanPines.org.
