Q. How can I dispose of leaves and other yard waste in Ocean Pines?
A. Ocean Pines Public Works will continue to pick up bagged leaves each fall, as has been the practice for many years. Republic Services will also collect up to eight bags each week, with regular trash collection.
Q. When will bagged leaves be collected?
A. Ocean Pines Public Works will collect bagged leaves (paper bags only) from Nov. 28 to Dec. 22. Bagged leaves will be picked up on days opposite of Republic Services’ regularly scheduled collection days.
If Republic Services normally collects your trash on Mondays and Thursdays, which are the scheduled collection days for all Ocean Pines homes north of the Route 90 bridge, Ocean Pines will collect bagged leaves in your neighborhood on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Q. Are there any changes to how Ocean Pines will maintain drainage ditches as it pertains to leaf collection?
A. Ocean Pines will no longer be vacuuming the leaves with the vacuum truck from the road. Ocean Pines homeowners will now be responsible for bagging up those leaves.
Q. What will Ocean Pines do with the vac truck?
A. The vacuum truck will be used by Public Works to clean out ditches in areas where there is a designated need. Going forward, it will not be used community-wide to clean and maintain ditches.
Q. Is there a limit to how many bags I can place at the curb for collection?
A. There is no limit to the number of bags that Public Works will collect curbside. Republic Services will collect up to four bags of leaves for each regularly scheduled trash collection day.
Q. Can I include other yard debris (grass clippings, weeds, branches, etc.) with the bagged leaves?
A. Ocean Pines’ bagged leaf collection is restricted to leaves. Republic Services customers can include leaves and yard debris in bags left curbside; branches should be tied in bundles no longer than four feet.
Q. When will the Public Works yard be open for yard waste disposal?
A. The Public Works yard will continue to be open each spring and fall. The only change is that, going forward, residents will need a sticker to use the yard. Along with regular drop-off times, residents can call to make an appointment for a special drop-off time.
The Ocean Pines Public Works yard is located at 1 Firehouse Lane next to Ocean Pines Public Works and the south Fire Department.
Q. How do I get a sticker?
A. To get a sticker, call Ocean Pines Public Works at 410-641-7425. There is no fee for the first year.
Q. Can I bring yard waste in addition to leaves to the Public Works yard?
A. Yes. All types of yard debris may be dropped off. Please note that plastic bags will not be accepted – yard waste must be brought in loose or in paper bags only.
