By making healthy lifestyle choices, you can normalize your blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels and reduce your risk of heart disease and heart attacks. The Healthy Heart Ambassador Program offers self-monitoring, lifestyle coaching, and nutrition education classes to help you with hypertension - also known as high blood pressure - get to and maintain a healthy blood pressure level.

Connect with Your Family in 2026 with Worcester Health’s Healthy Worcester Families Program
Bring your family closer while adopting a healthier, happier lifestyle with Healthy Worcester Families. This 9-week program combines fun activities, meaningful learning, and quality family time - all aimed at improving communication, building healthier habits, and strengthening your bond. Families with youth ages 7-17 are invited to attend together, engaging in hands-on activities and group discussions that promote better connections and healthier living.
Healthy Worcester Families offers a free family dinner at the start of each weekly session. Every week, your family will explore topics such as communication skills, healthy behaviors, and financial literacy, to help strengthen your family connection. You will also have the opportunity to receive prizes and other incentives throughout the program.
The program begins on January 13th, from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at Coastal Community Church (10900 Ocean Gateway, Berlin, MD 21811). To register your family, please visit

Cooking Up Health Food Preservation and Nutrition Class Comes Back to Berlin
The Worcester County Health Department, in partnership with the University of Maryland Extension and the Worcester County Library, is bringing the Cooking Up Health class back to Berlin. This free program will teach you valuable skills related to healthy eating, food budgeting, financial management, growing their own food, preparing nutritious meals, and food preservation.
The class begins February 23, 2026, at the Berlin Library, and will run weekly from 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Pre-registration is required and space is limited. To register, visit
