Pine’eer Craft Club names Barbara Stilwell as the June Crafter of the Month

(June 11, 2026) The Pine’eer Craft Club has named Barbara Stilwell as the June Crafter of the Month.

25 years ago, Barbara taught herself how to crochet, making a baby afghan for her first grandson. Eight grandchildren later, she’s still crocheting, with her latest creations including rectangular granny square afghans with interesting color combinations.

In addition to crocheting, Barbara also enjoys making different types of jewelry, including earrings, bracelets, and anklets. She has been making eyeglass holders in a wide variety of styles and colors.

She says that once she finds her sewing machine under all her beads and baubles, she plans to make more plastic bag holders and microwave potato pouches. Also on her list is the creation of different liquor bottle lights, which she adds are a great accent piece for dark corners or vanities.

Barbara and her family moved to Ocean Pines from Milltown, New Jersey, in 2003.

Barbara’s handmade items are available at the Pine’eer Craft Club Artisan Gift Shop, located in White Horse Park in Ocean Pines. The shop is open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Founded more than 50 years ago, the Pine’eer Craft Club has donated over $201,000 to the Ocean Pines community. The club welcomes new members and meets on the third Thursday of each month.
