Worcester County Notice of Public Hearing

Many owners of property on the north side of Ocean Pines received a Notice of Public Hearing from Worcester County for property recently sold that is situated west of the north gate entrance.

Per the notice, the request is to rezone 14.72 acres of land from a R-2 suburban residential district to a R-3 multi-family residential district.

Clarification has been received from Worcester County regarding this request. As the parcel currently is listed as R-2, this would allow for approximately 59 dwelling units. The owner of the property is requesting rezoning to a R-3, which would allow for approximately 87 dwelling units. Further received was that the initial concept if the zoning change is approved that the land would be a townhome development, with a 100’ buffer around the Ocean Pines lot and the wetlands on the property.
