Breakfast At Wimbledon Wrap

The following is a communication from the Ocean Pines Tennis Steering Committee (OPTC):

"Breakfast at Wimbledon" attendees last weekend enjoyed fine weather, playing social and competitive tennis matches, a first-rate club tennis exhibition of mixed doubles in the final round, mimosas and, in the Wimbledon tradition, strawberries and cream.

The championship round featured Angela Hunter and Larry Paglia (winners of the Green Acers group round robin), versus Lori Paglia and Dave McGregor (winners of the Purple Poachers group round robin).

The finals were scheduled as a single five-game set but, because of the high level competitive play, the spectators asked for more. The players graciously complied, playing an additional five-game set.

Congratulations to Paglia and McGregor for playing their way through the Green Acers group round robin preliminary matches and winning the championship round in the OPTC "Breakfast at Wimbledon" event.

Congratulations also to Hunter and Paglia for their performances through the Purple Poaches group round robin and being finalists in the OPTC Breakfast At Wimbledon Event.

Special thanks to Geri Fasulo, Kathy Stone, Eileen Larson, Cami Rogers, Dale Ash, Mitzi Ash and for others for providing and setting up mimosas, strawberries and cream, and cold drinks, and for their post-event cleanup efforts.
